Thanks and Congratulations

I want to first thank Joe Repya and MN Publius for helping to get the word out about Dump Brodkorb. Because of their posts, the readership and tips are up.

Secondly, I want to say thanks and congratulations to those of us who helped to end Brodkorb's radio show.  A few of us have worked to get him off the air and it is great to see one of our goals accomplished.

Post will be added every 7 to 10 days and become more frequent as we get closer to the election.

If you have any information, please send an e-mail to: dumpbrodkorb@gmail.com

Oh, isn't this special!

I'd love to know who's behind this. As re Michael's involvement in the NARN, it's utterly untrue.

Nobody "forced" Brodkorb off the show. And I AM the most highly-placed source there is on this subject: I'm a founder of the NARN, and *I* invited Michael to join in the first place. He is leaving the regular broadcast on *impeccably* good terms. Life's leading him in other directions, and his departure is understandable. Don't be at all surprised if he fills in for King on semi-frequent occasion.

Whomever is behind this site is a liar - and, given that he/she is remaining anonymous, a gutless, dishonorable liar to boot.

(And if you delete this comment, that'll complete the trifecta of dishonorable cowardice).

I've already given this gutless lie more attention than it deserved.

Let me add this, just to reinforce the disingenuity (that's an upper-division term for "lying") of this post; if someone had come to the NARN or The Patriot trying to "force Michael off the show", they'd have been laughed out of the room.

This isn't just a lie - it's a pathetic one.

Mitch:

First off, Dump Brodkorb is an anonymous blog, ran the same way Brodkorb ran his blog for quite some time.

Secondly, many GOP activists have complained about Brodkorb keeping his show while running for Deputy Chair. Whether those complaints got to 1280, I do not know. Several of this site's readers have expressed concerns about Brodkorb using his show as a soapbox for his tainted message.

Finally, I doubt Brodkorb will return to co-host any radio show or make any appearances on his former or another show.

btw, I would never delete a comment because I I disagree with it. The blog was started on the basis of discussion of ideas.

Well, this is interesting:

First off, Dump Brodkorb is an anonymous blog, ran the same way Brodkorb ran his blog for quite some time.

You come close to a point here; Anonymous blogging carries a huge credibility penalty. When Michael was anonymous, I was one of many that urged him to use his identity. And there's something to that; MDE's main growth to prominence occurred after his identity was known.

Think about it.

Secondly, many GOP activists have complained about Brodkorb keeping his show while running for Deputy Chair.

OK, Mr./Ms. Anonymous, that's cool, and I understand the complaint, but that's a far cry from your original assertion: "thanks and congratulations to those of us who helped to end Brodkorb's radio show. A few of us have worked to get him off the air and it is great to see one of our goals accomplished"

So which was it? Was it a "goal" that you "worked" for and "accomplished"? Or was it something you complained about and are happy to see come to pass? There's a big difference.

Whether those complaints got to 1280, I do not know.

Again, that's not what your original statement led the reader to believe.

And of course Brodkorb got complaints. So does every member of the NARN. So does every on air personality on any station, anywhere. But not only did positive feedback vastly outweigh the negative, but the only measures that really matter - sales and ratings - were mighty good.

Several of this site's readers have expressed concerns about Brodkorb using his show as a soapbox for his tainted message.

There are legitimate questions there. But those doubts were of no matter in deciding the course of the show (which, by the way, was not "his"; it is the NARN. He is one of seven members; the shows belong to King, John, Brian, Chad, Ed, Michael and I).

Finally, I doubt Brodkorb will return to co-host any radio show or make any appearances on his former or another show.

None of us are clairvoyant. But I tell you, as one of the people who started the NARN (two years before Michael joined) and who've made them the most successful talk shows in the Twin Cities in their time slots in the past five years, that your information is incorrect. Michael is perfectly welcome to guest-host, and I will invite him to appear on NARN2, especially for stories involving his forte - exposing Minnesota Democrats - when it's appropriate and he's available.

Look; as Reagan said, you're entitled to your opinion, but not to your own facts. There were legitimate questions within the party about Brodkorb mixing radio and his ambitions within the party (which are now moot). But using an anonymous blog, which circulate just-plain-false information (as I've documented in this space) is not the way to convey those questions.
